Are there any other impacts that youth will experience other than experiencing mental image pictures of drugs and their effects, drug addicts will become thin, does not like to socialise in the real world, will experience paranoia and will get addicted to drugs? I would love it if there are other answers to support my question. Luli likes this.
Join Date Jan Posts Well, first of all your picture of a drug addict is dead wrong and IMHO a real problem being taught in school. Read this forum! Most of the people here who have had a drug problem are upper middle class with great jobs, nice homes, driving nice cars and have educated family included. I think people need to "get real" here. As a kid, I was taught in school that you could spot an addict a mile away; the dirty, homeless guy with no teeth.
This leads to a social discremination towards drugs like suboxone and methadone- it's only used for the lowest of society, right??? Most people get hooked on drugs from their doctors, the dealers in white coats. Drug abuse crosses all lines. Don't try to describe what the average addict looks like, you might not like what you see. Hope my input helps.
And again, I mean no disrespect here.

Join Date May Posts Agreed I agree with the above post. It's a misconception that homosexuals always have a certain look. Gays can look like anyone at all.
Drug addicts are the same, and there are far more people dependent on prescription drugs than street drugs. For some drugs, like meth, certain physical manifestations can appear after prolonged abuse, such as blotchy skin, rotten teeth, etc. But for most street drug addicts, they look the way they do because they dont get proper nutrition or take care of themselves, but not because of the drug itself. Addictive drugs generally affect the brain, not the body. What is Malayalam? Malayalam is one of the four ma in language s used in south In dia.

For decades now, drug and alcohol use by adolescents has been a great problem in this country. Research suggests that there are two major contributing factors to drug and alcohol use and abuse. These factors are broken off into external cues and internal cues. The external factors include the parents of the adolescent and his or her peers. There is research to suggest that parental favorability to drugs and alcohol is one factor, as is parental use presently and in the past, and most importantly the relationship of the adolescent to his or her parent is a strong factor.
As far as the peer relationship, it is shown that successful bonding to wholesome peers will yield good habits in a person, while bonding to a deviant crowd will predict drinking and drug activity.

The internal cues may lead an adolescent toward drugs and alcohol just as strongly. Research has shown that low self-esteem is linked to drug and alcohol use, and high self-esteem is linked to a sort of invulnerability to drugs and alcohol. Other factors such as wealth, the community environment, and the presence of mental health affect substance abuse. According to Clinton et al text, more teenage girls than boys now smoke and abuse prescription drugs.
Girls are also starting to use marijuana and alcohol at a higher rate than boys. Friendships can be a source of both knowledge and strength for adolescent girls as well as a source of struggle, hurt, and confusion, particularly as girls move into adolescence and begin to negotiate dominant cultural views of sexual relationships, femininity, and appearance APA, Many of the risk factors that emerge in the school environment are symptomatic of other problems, such as learning disabilities, emotional problems, or a temporary difficulty in the family McWhirter, For many students, and for female students in particular, schools are not safe places.
In response to greater public awareness of harassment, there has been an increase in the number of junior high and high schools that have developed policies against sexual harassment APA, In addition, some schools are implementing programs that address harassment as a serious matter, while focusing on building a school community that supports more appropriate and inclusive behavior APA, These risk factors range from lack of parental role models to academic failure to neighborhood drug availability.
Related research supports the view that these internalities are associated with adolescent drug and alcohol use and abuse. The internalities that affect behavioral choices are addressed in containment theory and consistency theory.
Containment theorists emphasize that behavioral decisions are based on external limiters, such as rules, laws, or consequences, for individuals who are externally contained, but for those who have developed internal control mechanisms, decisions are based on personal beliefs, values, attitudes, and self-identity.
A study of adolescent drug use indicated that those who scored higher on external containment had lower self-esteem and higher drug use.Drugs are destroying the lives of our youth and putting their future in a great darkness. The use of drugs is making their lives vulnerable and prone to destruction.
Therefore, it becomes very important to raise awareness about it amongst our youth and prevent them from succumbing to it. You can even prepare a speech on drug abuse and deliver it on various occasions and platforms.

Teenagers and Drug Abuse Essay
Drugs, as we all know, are an illegal matter which some people drink, smoke, inject or eat for the mental as well as physical effects that it leaves. There are several students who consume drugs out of fun or for various other reasons. People who deal in the selling of drugs create a network and mainly target students in order to make them addicted to drugs.
Initially, the drugs are sold to the students for free and gradually when they get addicted to it, they start buying and consuming it. In fact, the students also eventually become a part of their network and start dealing in it. It is observed that students start consuming drugs out of stress or unfair expectations of their teachers as well as parents. Lack of emotional support and disorder in their families make them vulnerable and increase their dependency on drugs.Malayalam Speech on 'The Youth of Today'
They use it in order to calm down their state of mental agitation. Other than this, it is poverty that compels some students to become a part of the selling and dealing network of drugs and derive their pocket money. Therefore, it becomes like a vicious circle of the drug addicted students from which they seem to find no escape unless the society comes for their rescue. Sadly, the students fail to realize that the consumption of drugs has a severe impact on their physical and mental health, such as they start experiencing mental disorder, their intelligence level decreases, experience deadly diseases and untimely death.
In fact, there are many cases too where even rehabilitation centers fail because of the worst condition of the patients. I, therefore, request all the students to refrain themselves completely from the consumption of drugs before it destroys their health, future and takes away their lives.
Drugs can even destroy a complete generation. So think wise and act smart. Shape your future which seems bright and full of achievements. Remember that our country needs you as you are its future and harbinger of progress.
